The ice wall

Somebody usually leaves a cave on: water dripping, a river underground, the sea at the back of a sea cave, a glacier from the inside. These are real caves, filmed, each with how long it runs. Play one here, or put it on the ice wall; each is yours, at your own pace, and you can leave it on and say nothing, which is what this room is for. In the call, anybody can put a YouTube video on for everybody from the call’s own menu, under Share video, and then whoever shares it plays and pauses it for everybody.

The call in here is for people signed on to the CB. Anybody can come in and look around; to talk, and to be in the call, you need the CB, and the Community Center says how to get on it.

A Note on Communication Access. We support multiple modes of participation including text chat, audio, and video — whatever works for your communication needs on a given day. You do not need to speak to belong here.

The call is run by 8x8’s Jitsi as a Service. Your camera and microphone start off, the name you are called by goes to 8x8 inside your pass into the call, and we keep nothing about a call. What goes where.

Why inside the ice

A cave is where you go to be alone with a thought, and a quiet room is where you do it with other people there. Ice is the one cave you can see into and still not be seen out of: the light comes in, and nothing needs saying. Say hi in the chat if you like, and then there is no need to say anything. Nothing in this room moves, at any setting.

Each cave is its own channel’s, and its title is theirs; the notes are ours and say only what their titles, descriptions and chapters say is in them.
