The Cinema

Velvet curtains, a silver screen, and every film I keep on a reel of its own.

Come in out of the yurt and sit anywhere you like. There is no programme and no time it starts: the films are on reels along the rails on the wall, in rows, and whichever one you take down goes up on the screen. The projector in the box at the back hums to itself and never flickers, the candles stand still, and nothing plays until you press it.

HOW LOUD DO YOU WANT IT?

Starts wherever your device says. In here MAX turns the reels on the projector; nothing else moves unless you ask it to, below, and the light from the box never flickers.

The Reels

Take a reel off the rail: press it and it goes up on the screen and plays. Every reel says how long the film runs before you press it. A whole channel or playlist says it runs until you stop it, and plays from the top with the rest to scroll through in the player; a live camera says it runs until you close it. Nothing plays until you press it, and taking it off leaves the screen dark again.

Every film, as reels on the rails

Every reel read off its own page on YouTube on 2026-10-21, in the order I put them on the rails. A channel or playlist plays whatever is on it the day you press it.

The rest of the yurt, the lights, the gallery, the music and the books, is back through the cinema door.

Job marker — a ticket stub dropped under a seat

You have found a job marker. The Adventurer’s Guild is a shopfront on the street, and it posts jobs that send you round these rooms. Take the code below to its board and that job is done. Nothing here is scored, nothing expires, and one is a perfectly good number of jobs to do.
