Board
A room for Stimpunks Board Members to meet.
The board
- Ryan Boren, President, Co-Founder, Co-Creative Director
- Betsy Selvam, Vice President
- Kristina Brooke Daniele, Secretary
- Becky Hicks, Board Member
As our Board & Governance page lists them, in its order and with its titles, read on 2026-09-29. Each name goes to their own section of our About page.
The board oversees the organisation’s mission, its money and its direction, and the people who run the work day to day are not voting members of it; our Board & Governance page says so, and says what the board oversees.
The meeting
The draft agenda for Tuesday 29 September 2026 · Quarterly meeting (rescheduled from summer).

Governance & Ethics
Clear governance, transparent leadership, and documented organizational structure are essential to accountability. The following pages provide essential information about our legal status, board composition, financial oversight, and institutional policies.
Accountability starts with governance, oversight, and clear ethical commitments.
- Frequently Requested Information — Legal status, EIN, board and staff composition, funding overview, and core organizational facts.
- Bylaws — The rules that govern how we are run, published in full. The version shown is the one proposed for adoption at our September 2026 board meeting, with the family qualification for directors removed from §2.1.
- Board Roles & Responsibilities — What we ask of a director, what we deliberately do not ask — no give-or-get, no travel, no performing wellness — what each officer does, and what the Foundation owes its board in return.
- Conflict of Interest Policy
- Gift Acceptance Policy
- Whistleblower & Concern Reporting Policy
- Document Retention & Destruction Policy
- Board & Governance
- Transparency Log
- Community Covenant
Governance is not bureaucracy. Governance is how we keep the commons safe and durable.
Our governance model is grounded in lived experience leadership and epistemic justice, ensuring decision-making reflects the communities most impacted by the systems we seek to redesign.
This section is our Accountability & Transparency page’s, word for word, read on 2026-09-29.
Talking
The channel and the call in here are for the base: people signed on at the Community Center with the moderators’ password. Anybody can come in and look around, and the radio waits outside the door for everybody else.
This browser is not signed on as the base, so the call in here is not yours to join. The base signs on at the front desk.
The call is run by 8x8’s Jitsi as a Service, and the server hands a pass into it to the base and nobody else. Camera and microphone start off, and we keep nothing about a call. What goes where.
Why a lamp at every seat
Because a board is a table where every seat counts the same. There is no light over the head of the table and no bigger lamp for anybody: the same small lamp, the same pool, at every place, down both sides. The room is dark around them, and what is said under them stays in the room. Nothing in here moves, at any setting.
Whose words
The room’s line is Ryan’s, from his brief for the Town Hall. Who is on the board, and their titles, are read off our Board & Governance page on stimpunks.org, and each name goes to their section of our About page, which is where to read about them. DM Serif Display is Colophon Foundry’s and Source Sans 3 is Paul D. Hunt’s, both under the SIL Open Font License; the room is ours. More in the liner notes.
Job marker — a pencil, rolled off the table
You have found a job marker. The Adventurer’s Guild is a shopfront on the street, and it posts jobs that send you round these rooms. Take the code below to its board and that job is done. Nothing here is scored, nothing expires, and one is a perfectly good number of jobs to do.
The job: Whose lamp is biggest
Before the code: What does every seat at the Board's table have in front of it?
Hint 1
There is no light over the head of the table.
Hint 2
Look at the drawing, down both sides.
Last hint
It is small and shaded, and it is the same at every seat.
Give me the answer
The answer is The same lamp. Every seat has the same small shaded lamp and the same pool of light in front of it, down both sides, and nobody's lamp is bigger: a board is a table where every seat counts the same.
Taking the answer is a real way through this, not a lesser one. Nothing is watching and nothing is written down.
Quest code: ONEVOTE
That is the one.
