Behind The Feed · up the hill · where it all comes from
Up the hill from the concourse
The Source
Every site on The Feed’s boards starts up here, as a spring. The water lays down the stone it runs over, one thin skin of travertine at a time, and every terrace on this hill was built that way.
Each pool below is one of the repositories our sites are built in, on GitHub, and each deposit in it is a commit: one change, with a line saying what changed and whose hands made it. The newest lie at the top, nearest the spring. Press one and you are at the commit itself, with everything its message says. The sun is high up here and the stone is whiter than the sky, so every rim throws its shadow straight down into the pool below.
This room’s channel on the CB hears every new commit as it comes in, a few minutes after it is pushed, said by The Source itself; The Feed’s channel does the same for everything on its boards. Follow the room on the radio to be told, and say something back: they are there to be talked about.

Go up to the springs
Every one of these repositories is public. Its commit feed is on its plate: put it in a reader and the commits come to you, on your own time. stimpunks.org’s feeds page lists them all, in this order, beside the socials and the sites’ own feeds, which are on The Feed’s boards.
Whose hands
Every deposit names whoever its commit names: the person who made it, and anybody its message credits in a Co-Authored-By line, which on these repositories is very often Claude, working with Ryan Boren or Helen Edgar. Where GitHub names nobody, the deposit says so rather than guessing. The morning timers’ own commits are left off: those are a machine reading feeds, not anybody’s work.
The repositories are Stimpunks Foundation’s, several of them made with Helen Edgar of Autistic Realms and More Realms. They are kept on GitHub, which is not affiliated with this street. Every commit’s words belong to whoever wrote them, and this room holds only their first lines. The credits are in the liner notes.
What moves in here
Nothing, at any setting. The water is always moving and the stone it leaves never is, and the stone is what is drawn.
HOW LOUD DO YOU WANT IT?
Starts wherever your device says. Nothing moves, flashes, or plays until you say so — and on the terraces, nothing moves even then.
Job marker — a chip of rim stone off the lowest pool
You have found a job marker. The Adventurer’s Guild is a shopfront on the street, and it posts jobs that send you round these rooms. Take the code below to its board and that job is done. Nothing here is scored, nothing expires, and one is a perfectly good number of jobs to do.
The job: What built the terraces?
Before the code: Every terrace on that hill was laid down a thin skin of stone at a time. By what?
Hint 1
It is in the line right under the room's name.
Hint 2
It comes up out of the spring at the top of the hill.

Give me the answer
The answer is The water that runs over it. The water: a warm spring lays down the stone it carries on everything it runs over, which is how every terrace on that hill was built.
Taking the answer is a real way through this, not a lesser one. Nothing is watching and nothing is written down.
Quest code: TRAVERTINE
That is the one.
