Town Hall
The street’s town hall, at noon. It is one round room under a dome, and the top of the dome is open to the sky, so the sun comes down through the hole and lies on the floor as a single disc that moves round the hall through the day. This is where Stimpunks meets to run itself, and the doors round the wall go to the rooms where that happens. Every one of them is open to walk into. What changes from door to door is who can talk once you are in.
The doors round the wall
- The Fishbowl A room for community Fishbowl Meetings for anyone with CB access. Anybody can walk in, and anybody signed on to the CB can talk there. go in
- Directors A room for Stimpunks Directors to meet. Anybody can walk in. The radio and the call in there are for the base, signed on with the moderators’ password. go in
- Board A room for Stimpunks Board Members to meet. Anybody can walk in. The radio and the call in there are for the base, signed on with the moderators’ password. go in

Moderators A room for Stimpunks Moderators to meet. Anybody can walk in. The radio and the call in there are for the base, signed on with the moderators’ password. not open yet
Who can talk where
- Anybody can walk into any room here, signed on or not, and read everything on its walls.
- The Fishbowl is the CB’s. Anybody signed on at the Community Center can tune the radio to it and join its call.
- The rooms for our directors, our board and our moderators are the base’s. The base is whoever signed on with the moderators’ password, and in those rooms the radio only comes in with them: for everybody else it waits outside the door, and is there again in the hall.
- That is a lock and not a curtain. The street’s server hands those rooms’ channel, their call and any film hosted in them to the base and to nobody else, whatever a browser asks for, and nobody else’s radio hears that anything is going on in there.
- The house norms are the CB’s, at the Community Center, and our covenant applies in every room of this building.
Why a hole in the roof
Some of what gets said in a town hall has to stay in the room it was said in, and the rooms round this wall have doors for that reason. The hall in the middle is open to the sky. Our bylaws are published in full: our accountability pages on stimpunks.org carry the bylaws and a transparency log. A private conversation and a public outcome are two different things, and this building has a place for each.
Whose this is
The rooms, and the one line on each door, are Ryan’s, from his brief of 2026-09-29. The hall, its drawing and every other word here are ours, and nothing in the drawing is a picture of any real building. Forum is Denis Masharov’s and Gelasio is Eben Sorkin’s, both under the SIL Open Font License. More in the liner notes.
Job marker — a gavel, left on the floor of the rotunda
You have found a job marker. The Adventurer’s Guild is a shopfront on the street, and it posts jobs that send you round these rooms. Take the code below to its board and that job is done. Nothing here is scored, nothing expires, and one is a perfectly good number of jobs to do.
The job: What the middle of the building is open to
Before the code: What is the top of the Town Hall's dome open to?
Hint 1
Look at the top of the drawing.
Hint 2
It is round and there is no glass in it.
Last hint
What is above a roof with a hole in it?
Give me the answer
The answer is The sky. The top of the dome is a round hole, open to the sky, and the sun comes through it and lies on the floor as one disc. The rooms round the wall have doors; the middle of the building has none.
Taking the answer is a real way through this, not a lesser one. Nothing is watching and nothing is written down.
